Ahuha Ahukaha English Rulebook

Have you heard of Tanabata, the Star Festival?
Tanabata is a traditional celebration held on July 7th.
In Japan, it’s cherished as a festival that blends ancient East Asian legends with native Japanese traditions.

On this night, Orihime (Vega) and Hikoboshi (Altair) are said to cross the Milky Way to meet once a year — an event known as Hosiahi, “the meeting of the stars.”
This story has inspired Japanese poetry for over a thousand years, appearing in many classic waka.

In Ahuha Ahukaha, I took Tanabata as the theme and wove together the encounters of twenty-one first-magnitude stars with poems from the Kokin Wakashū, one of Japan’s oldest anthologies of waka.
I believe this game has become something that can be enjoyed by anyone interested in Japanese culture or in the stars themselves.

This work preserves the original kana spellings of classical Japanese poetry, in honor of their authentic linguistic expression. 
Accordingly, certain romanization styles used in the English title and rulebook may differ from those typically seen in modern Japanese.

Of course, as a game, Ahuha Ahukaha is filled with unique twists and ideas that offer an experience unlike any other.
I hope you’ll enjoy the special charm that only a three-player game can bring.
The more you play, the more delightfully “uncontrollable” it becomes!

For this release, I’m also sharing an English version of the rulebook, and I plan to publish an English list of the cards at a later date.
A small number of printed copies will be available at Game Market, so if any English-speaking visitors attend the event, I’ll be happy to hand them out in person.
